Google’s AI Featuring Poem With Selfie
Google is always doing weird and inventive projects with the help of artificial intelligence. Es Devlin and Google has built a new AI that uses your selfie and combines it with the words of your choice and then create your unique portrait.
This app is named “poem portrait”. It uses one word entered by the user, which is then expanded into original lines by an algorithm that has been trained using nineteenth-century poetry.
Developed in collaboration with Google Arts and Culture,’ Poem portrait’ an online collective artwork with a combination of poetry, design and machine learning.
It works a bit like predictive text: it doesn’t copy or rework existing phrases, but uses its training material to build a complex statistical model. As a result, the algorithm generates original phrases emulating the style of what it’s been trained on, Devlin writes.
How to use poem portrait:
To use poem portrait, visit project page link and follow the instructions. Tap the begin button and then enter a word in the dialogue box. Once you click on donate after entering the word then you will be informed that AI is working on creating your poem then you need to click on continue.
Users also have a choice of taking selfie upon which the AI generated poem is overlaid but you can also skip this option and poem the is displayed to you in text form without any image. You can also save the portrait to share it whenever you want.
I have given the word “life” and this is what it gave me:
