Two weeks ago, Apple had announced its Apple News Plus subscription plans for users in the US and Canada. In just the first 48 hours of its release, Apple News Plus had received over 200,000 subscribers.
According to the New York Times, Apple News Plus received more subscribers compared to its previous media aggregation app called “Texture”. The Texture app was eventually taken down by Apple after it released the Apple News Plus.
So far, Apple has included over 300 big publishers onto its subscription plan. That includes the Wall Street Journal, New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and Wired. However, other publishers such as the New York Times and Washington Post are currently not part of the subscription yet.
